Your “Change-4-Change” at Work: Helping Puerto Rico.

Updated: Apr 9, 2020

While still recovering from Hurricane Maria in 2017, southern Puerto Rico experienced a series of 5.0 magnitude earthquakes in late December 2019 to early January 2020 leaving the whole island without electricity for 3 days. Thousands of US citizens remain homeless. The MSJE is sending the amount of $200 in an effort to assist in their recovery. This donation comes from the loose change you place in the collection basket every Sunday.

Please send any personal donations you would like to make to: Bianca Alba, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), 1324 Calle Canada, San Juan, PR 00920.

Meet Our Minister

The Rev. Christian Schmidt is our interim minister, and first became a Unitarian Universalist in this congregation where he was an active member from 2006-2009. He has since served congregations in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and California. His interests include his family (including four little boys he and his wife are raising), sports, and theology.
