UUA General Assembly 2022

The Final Agenda for voting at UUA General Assembly 2022 is now available! This agenda includes two business resolutions, a bylaw rule update, and the rules of procedure which delegates will vote on during Multiplatform GA June 22-26, 2022. The order of business during General Sessions and information on the competitive election for the Board of Trustees is also included. Note that other items, such as actions of immediate witness, may be added during GA.

GA business is starting earlier this year Following the GA theme of “Meet the Moment: Reimagining Radical Faith Community,” the UUA has redesigned the discussion and voting process to be more accessible, inclusive and democratic for both online and onsite delegates. This means that parts of the GA business process will begin earlier to give everyone more time to participate. Here are a few highlights:

  • Voting on business items and other official actions for delegates will happen through the online Delegate Platform, which is open now (see below on how to access it). Both online and onsite delegates can use an electronic device, such as a smartphone or computer, to access the Delegate Platform.

  • Voting for the competitive Board election starts June 1, 2022 via ballot.

  • Any delegate may submit up to three total amendments to items on the Final Agenda through a form on the Delegate Platform. These must be submitted by June 8, 2022.

  • The Mini-Assembly to review amendments to items on the final agenda will take place online before GA. Amendments supported by 33% of delegates who vote at the Mini-Assembly can be considered at GA. The Mini-Assembly will start at 1 pm PT / 4 pm ET on June 11, 2022, and the ballot will stay open for 24 hours on the Delegate Platform.

  • Delegates will receive the updated Final Agenda a week prior to the start of GA, including the text of any amendments which advance from the mini-assembly.

Join the conversation A new discussion forum for business items is open to all UU members at discuss.uua.org Access the Delegate Platform The online Delegate Platform (delegate.uua.org) is now open! To access the Delegate Platform, delegates must be registered for General Assembly and have credentials. Congregations are responsible for assigning credentials to their member delegates. Ministers and religious educators can retrieve their credentials via ga-delegate.uua.org. Delegates wishing only to participate in the business portions of General Assembly can register as business-only registrants. This new registration type includes a sliding fee of "pay what you can" so it is financially accessible to everyone. Questions?
