Texas UU Justice Ministry News


Governor Abbott has called a special session of the Texas Legislature to start July 8th. High on the Governor’s agenda will be efforts to further limit voting rights along with other bills which most progressive people of faith oppose. Several bills, including the voting limitations, were stopped before advancing to his desk when Democrats walked out right at the close of the regular session.

With the lifting of some Covid restrictions on the Capitol Building, there may be opportunities for in-person lobbying efforts and other actions during the special session.
