Sometimes our language can reinforce assumptions about gender. Be aware of the language you use, and avoid making assumptions about anyone’s ability, profession, or personality based on their gender. When telling stories to children, consider adding a female construction worker or male nurse to challenge assumptions and promote gender equity.
