The Ministry for Social Justice and the Environment (MSJE) continues to be VERY, VERY BUSY and we invite you to join us on our upcoming events and our MSJE meetings, the second Sunday of every month.
We had a nice showing for the Dan Kiniry’s, Matthew Sherman’s and architect Brian Gibbs’ presentation on the non-profit Tiny Hope Village. Feedback from congregates were that it ‘was great’, ‘very Informative’, they were ‘fired up!’ & they gained a 'huge’ amount of information.
As we continue to work with issues of homelessness, actively supporting Tiny Hope Village, BISD Hope’s Locker, Family Promise of BC/S, Habitat for Humanity and other organizations, MSJE is segueing (seɡwā-ing, def. - proceed to what follows without pause) into environmental changes and global warming.
A few months ago, MSJE sponsored a talk from Raymond Tarpley, Chapter Leader for Citizens’ Climate Lobby, (CLL), https://citizensclimatelobby.org/blog/. Raymond discussed energy innovation and the national carbon tax that has bi-partisan supported in Congress. Raymond will join us again at our next MSJE presentation:
Letter Writing in Support of …
House of Representatives (H.R.) 763 - Energy Innovation and
Carbon Dividend Act of 2019
&
Senate (S.) 2284 - The Climate Action Rebate Act of 2019
Do you understand what these bills represent?
Do you know how important it is for us to get our representatives
to vote for these bills?
Well, join us - Sunday, March 8th during Coffee Hour - and listen to questions from our RE group to Raymond Tarpley. While you do this, write letters to Representative Flores, Senator John Cornyn and Senator Ted Crux.
See you then!
