Dry on low heat: Avoid the high settings on your dryer, because overheating towels can tighten the fibers, “making them stiffer.” Skip fabric softener sheets also; they leave a slick coating that reduces absorbency. Wool dryer balls work better. Do this, and save energy, money and your towels.
