The holidays are right around the corner. We have a great deal to be thankful for. Our church is growing and starting to thrive. Our new building is starting the final stages of completion. Our kids are making friends and learning in Religious Education and our intergenerational services. Everyone had a blast at the Boo! Our members make a difference by working for social justice, getting out the vote, feeding our hungry neighbors, fighting climate change, and fighting racism. I am proud to be the minister for such a congregation.
Our theme for November is “Change.”
We will start the month by walking with many churches and organizations on Nov. 6th at 3 p.m. ( Sign up opens at 2:15 ) at the Crop Hunger Walk. Come walk with our team to help end hunger at Veterans Park 2200 Southwood Drive. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Later on the 17th, we will participate in Transgender Day of Remembrance at Friends Congregational Church at 6:30 pm. Bring a lawn chair. We are looking for volunteers to help set up, tear down and read names. Talk to Allison or me if you want to be a part of it. (dre@brazos-uu.org)
If you are looking to celebrate Thanksgiving and don’t have family nearby, we are invited by Friend’s Church to attend Friendsgiving on Sunday, November 20th. The festivities happen at Stephen Beachy Pavilion 1000 Krenek Tap Rd. in College Station at 5:30 pm
Starting November 6 we will resurrect the “Lunch Bunch.” After services, we will choose a restaurant for an informal meet and munch every Sunday. All are welcome.
We will also start our Mystery Book Club in person and on Zoom November 9th at 7:00 pm.
