Family Promise Host Week

Updated: Apr 8

UUCBV Host Week for Family Promise - Sunday, December 15th - Saturday, December 21st.

It's time again to sign up for the UUCBV Family Promise Host Week, December 15th - December 21st.

Every quarter, the UUCBV acts as Host Church for Family Promise and we need your help. Family Promise of BC/S is a transitory shelter for homeless children and their families.

Sign up to be the Shopper, to prepare a Warm Dinner, be the Dinner Host and/or Overnight Host by going to: https://docs.google.com/document/d/13L2rDWdsXfd1YFUgsjE8OZPIHhvnH_QXKPR9mzvEwlU/edit

Please note that shoppers and food preparers do not need to go through training but the Dinner Hosts and Overnight Hosts must undergo a quick 15 minute training program - contact Pam Johnson prljohnson@yahoo.com, 832-641-9782. Everyone must sign a confidentiality and background check form (in office) so make sure you have done that also.

Many think that the most rewarding tasks are preparing dinners and being a dinner host since you interact with clients, especially cute little babies and children.

1. Shopper - buys groceries from a list prepared by Dr. Phebe for the week (i.e., breakfast, lunches & snacks) & delivers them to FP by Sunday, December 15th, 5:30 pm or later.

2. Warm Dinners - prepare a warm dinner one night of the week, Sunday-Thursday, December 15 - 19th. Families eat on their own on Friday and Saturday.

3. Dinner Host - assists in serving dinner & mingles with clients from 5:30 - 7 pm, Sunday - Thursday. Often times the person preparing the dinner stays as the dinner host, but this is not required.

4. Overnight Host - sleeps overnight in volunteer room from 8:30 pm to 7 am. We
