Confronting Our Racism Group meets today

I would like to invite you to our next Confronting Our Racism Group (CORG) meeting, TODAY Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at 6:30 pm. The link for the meeting is below. Join Zoom Meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86775355708?pwd=ZWdrSTg1QXByL3lMaW5TUVNENDliZz09 Meeting ID: 867 7535 5708 Passcode: 239982 The CORG is a grassroots coalition of community organizations in the Bryan/College Station area. The CORG’s goal is to start conversations and to educate ourselves about systemic racism and the ways racism impacts individuals and our communities. Naturally, a discussion about racism can be very divisive, but I think we can all agree that such discussions are very important. Recently, the CORG sponsored the forum, Critical Race Theory: Reality or Myth? on August 21, 2021 featuring Professors Troy Harden & Joe Feagin from the TAMU Department of Sociology. After our successful forum, where do we go now? One worrisome subject discussed towards the end of the forum was why TAMU professors of color do not send their children to BC/S schools due to racism. How do we deal with this phenomenon? Thank you for your attention, and I hope you will be able to attend our meeting. We would love your input. Sincerely, Pam Johnson Chair, CORG President, UUCBV Click to revisit the video of Critical Race Theory: Reality or Myth?
