Even in Texas: The Changing Death Penalty Landscape
Although Texas is one of the only jurisdictions in the country to carry out executions during a global pandemic, use of the death penalty statewide has declined precipitously over the past two decades. Kristin Houlé Cuellar, the Executive Director of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, will describe the current death penalty landscape in Texas, the arbitrary and biased application of capital punishment, and the prospects for change. She will also share ideas for how you can become involved in efforts to end the death penalty (even in Texas).
